Support my Movies
When I found out about KickStarter.com, after looking around for a while, I saw several Fan Made Movie projects. There were a lot of Live Action adaptations of Comics, Cartoons, Anime Series, Books, Manga, and of course, Videogames.
At the time, I was already in the middle of editing “The King of Fighters ’99 – Real Life”, and it just wasn’t right to put up a Project that was already in the middle of development.
I was thinking on stopping making Live Action movies, because it just takes TOO LONG XD
When I was a student, I had a lot of free time and I could spend several hours a day editing movies and flash animations. But then I became a full time Multimedia Producer, and there was less and less time for my Cosplay stuff…
So, after seeing the success of my previos KOF Live Action movies, I decided to create a Campaign to make a Cosplay Film of KOF 2001.
I didn’t reached the goal, but support was enough to work on the project for a few weeks, and then finish it on my free time.
You see, I’m a freelance animator and video editor. And since I’m working on the computer all day, sometimes I just don’t feel like dedicated even more time a day to editing, even if it is one of my own movies. Also, by working on a movie just for 1 hour a day (or my whole weekend) it takes me almost a year to get it done.
Animation is a very time consuming process, and if I only dedicate my free time to working on Fan Movies and such, I’ll eventually won’t be able to keep it up… I mean, I have a life XD
Also, without a budget for the Production of my Films, they will never improve in quality.
Anyhow, KOF 2001 was finished… And KOF fans commented they wanted more. So I created a Fixed Budget Goal Campaign for KOF 2000 Live Action.
Now, I wanted to make my BEST KOF movie yet, so if I didn’t reached the goal, I was going to return the money. If I wasn’t gonna be able to make a GREAT film, I didn’t see the point of doing it…
So, I got less than 10% of the budget, and the project was never made.
Then I moved on to Street Fighter. And the same thing happened, I got less than 10% of the goal XD
BUT, and this is a big BUT, my friends in my home town wanted to support, and so I got all the resources I needed outside of IndieGoGo. You see, they lend us trucks to travel to the beach, made their own costumes, bought their own props like gloves and head bands… And the movie was simple in animation, but going to all those locations and having so much character, was so much FUN
Even if my animation skills and such are great, there’s a limit to what I can do with just the editing; there are lots of stuff needed in the making of a good film. The best example I could give you, are the characters costumes. The only reason they look so bad if because It’ll be too expensive to made them better… But with a decent Budget, that excuse will no longer exist
That way I created a Profile on Patreon.com
Any amount helps in the gattering of the whole Budget; and you get to vote what movie we do next
If you can not donate, you can help out my Productions by talking about it in VideoGame Forums, letting other Gamers know what’s going on, and telling other people that would like their favorite games come to life about my Live Action movies.
Thank you so much for your support, and for reading all this mumbo jumbo XD
